GENEVA, 16-Jun-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Turkey is proposing to adopt draft Regulations on food contact materials and articles. The proposed date of entry into force is Q3 of 2017.
In May 2017, the World Trade Organization (WTO) circulated two notifications from Turkey relating to two pieces of draft legislation on food contact materials and articles. These are:
Many of the provisions in the draft Food Codex Regulation contain similar language to those for Regulation (EC) 1935/2004, the so-called ‘EU Framework for food contact’. This draft Regulation [3] contains a number of important provisions, including:
According to the two WTO documents, the proposed date of entry into force for each piece of draft legislation is August 30, 2017.
