Joint venture will operate under the name Friesland Huishan Dairy
Amersfoort, the Netherlands, 3-4-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. and China Huishan Dairy Holdings Company Limited have established their joint venture after receiving anti-trust clearance and after completion of the other conditions. The joint venture will operate under the name Friesland Huishan Dairy. On 8 October 2014, the two companies announced their intention to enter into a joint venture. As of today, each company holds a 50 percent stake in Friesland Huishan Dairy.
Friesland Huishan Dairy will operate a fully integrated infant milk formula supply chain in the People’s Republic of China. In the near future, the company will launch a new infant milk formula brand on the Chinese market, which will offer high-quality infant and toddler nutrition. Friesland Huishan Dairy’s Xiushui plant near Shenyang, will process raw milk sourced from nearby dairy farms owned by Huishan.
The two companies will continue to independently run their existing infant and toddler formula businesses in China. This means that Huishan will carry on marketing its own brands, while FrieslandCampina’s Friso® brand will remain exclusively produced in the Netherlands and marketed by FrieslandCampina.
