26-6-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, Mike Russell, announced the reappointment, which will be for four years and will run from October, 3, 2013 to October 2, 2017.
The Scottish Further and Higher Education Funding Council (SFC) is the national, strategic body that is responsible for funding teaching and learning provision, research and other activities in Scotland’s colleges, universities and higher education institutions.
Professor Rodger is Vice Principal for External Affairs at the University of Aberdeen and a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Professor Rodger has been a board member of the Scottish Funding Council since 2009 and is the chair of the Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee. He graduated from the University of Aberdeen with first class honours in engineering and a doctorate of philosophy and has secured international awards for his research into geotechnical dynamics and was awarded the silver medal of The Royal Academy of Engineering. He is also a chartered engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Geological Society of London.
