VANTAA, Finland, 17-Jul-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — The Finnish Transport Agency and the consortium between Skanska Infra Oy and Pöyry Finland Oy have signed an alliance agreement for a development phase to construct the new Lahti stretch of the city of Lahti’s southern ring road.
The development phase will take approximately a year and start at the beginning of August. The goal of the phase is to jointly develop a detailed construction plan for project implementation.
The consortium between Skanska and Pöyry, called ‘VALTARI’, was chosen as the alliance partner at the beginning of June. The decision was announced on 29 June 2017. The Finnish Transport Agency will make a separate decision on purchase and alliance agreement of the implementation phase.
The project is currently one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Finland and includes several technically challenging constructions. According to the project schedule, the construction on highway 167 will start during spring 2017 and on highway 12 in 2018.
