Ljubljana, Lendava, 7-6-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Today, Petrol d.d., Ljubljana became the 100-percent owner of Nafta Geoterm d.o.o. from Lendava. Over the next two years and a half, about EUR 4.5m is projected to be invested in the development of Nafta Geoterm’s activities and creation of new jobs.
Petrol is interested in further development and upgrading of Nafta Geoterm’s existing business activities: mining, processing and transport of natural gas, and management and development of remote heating systems based on geothermal energy resources. Further development of services related to geothermal energy is exactly where Petrol sees an opportunity for Nafta Geoterm’s growth.
Petrol and the Municipality of Lendava will pay special attention to the upgrading of the geothermal energy powered remote heating system in Lendava. Price competitive and comprehensive energy supply will provide a good opportunity for the region to develop comprehensive industrial areas for the purpose of encouraging entrepreneurship in different fields.
The following are some direct and indirect effects to result from the projected development of Nafta Geoterm, d.o.o.: harmonised and faster development of the Petišovci oil and gas field; further development of geothermal energy exploitation in the region. The comprehensive energy supply will contribute to the creation of a competitive economic environment in the Lendava Municipality, and, consequently, generation of new jobs with higher added value.
