28-8-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — Following recent changes in the Danish government, Mr Henrik Sass Larsen was appointed Minister for Business and Growth on 9 August 2013. He also becomes EIB Governor for the Kingdom of Denmark, succeeding Ms Annette Vilhelmsen.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Larsen was a Member of the Public Accounts Committee from April 2013 and since 1996 he has been a Member of Parliament for the Social Democratic Party, representing different nomination districts.
Mr Larsen served as political spokesman (2006-2011), finance policy spokesman (2005- 2006), fiscal policy spokesman (2004-2005) and political-economic spokesman (2001-2004). He was also chairman of the Parliamentary Social Democratic group from 2012 to 2013 and vice-chairman from 2005 to 2006.
Mr Larsen has worked in the communications industry.
Born in 1966 in Virum, he graduated in Business Economics from the Roskilde University.
