Lemminkäinen won contract for re-surfacing of Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes in Norway

Evenes, Norway, 20-2-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Lemminkäinen has won a contract for the re-surfacing of Harstad/Narvik Airport Evenes. The contract is a joint venture between Lemminkäinen and Nordasfalt. Work will start in June 2014 and be completed by August 2014. Lemminkäinen owns 50% of Nordasfalt.

The contract comprises the laying of a new asphalt surface on the main runway and the runway shoulders.

“Evenes Airport passenger traffic amounts to about 600 000 passengers annually. The re-surfacing work will not interfere with air traffic,” says Gunnar Unstad, regional director at Lemminkäinen.

Lemminkäinen has strong expertise in airport projects. In 2013, Lemminkäinen started paving and renovation work at the Andøya airbase in Northern Norway, for the company in charge of Norwegian Armed Forces’ properties. The company has also participated in several other airport contracting projects in Norway.
