Schindellegi / CH, 15-10-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — The Board of Directors of Kuehne + Nagel International AG has appointed Gianfranco Sgro as a new member of the Management Board effectiveFebruary 1, 2015. He will assume global responsibility for the business unit Contract Logistics. Dr. Detlef Trefzger will continue to head the business unit in addition to his CEO responsibilities until Gianfranco Sgro joins Kuehne + Nagel.
From 2012 onwards Gianfranco Sgro has served as regional Chief Operating Officer at a major automotive supplier with full responsibility for production, sales and key account management. Previously, from 2007 to 2012, he acted as President Europe, Middle East, Africa and Managing Director Italy at a major contract logistics provider.
Gianfranco Sgro started his professional career with an international logistics provider in 1992. During his 14 years at the company he held various managerial positions for operations in Italy, Europe and South America. From 2003 to 2006 he was Managing Director Italy and President of South America.
