Frankfurt am Main, 07-Feb-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — The deadline to apply for the KfW Award for Housing and Construction, which this year is being granted for the 15th time, ends on 1 March 2017. Private building owners or building associations that have extended, rededicated, modernised or revived a building in the last five years, thereby creating or upgrading living space, have until that date to submit their applications. The projects are evaluated for achieving a successful balance between architecture and appearance, energy and cost efficiency, optimum use of room and space and individual homeliness.
“The demand for living space is constantly increasing in many regions of Germany. That is why this year’s KfW Award is recognising exemplary projects which have created sustainable or even new apartments in conjunction with existing buildings. We want to use the KfW Award for Housing and Construction to raise awareness of commendable residential projects which perfectly meet the diverse demands of our time, and to encourage others to emulate them,” comments Dr Ingrid Hengster, Member of the Executive Board of KfW Group.
The aim of the KfW Award for Housing and Construction is to provide impetus for sustainable living space and to highlight forward-looking trends. KfW is therefore granting the award already for the 15th time. The award has a total prize fund of EUR 30,000. The first five winners receive a total of EUR 25,000 and the five next best-rated projects each receive a prize of EUR 1,000. The formal awards ceremony will take place on 22 May 2017 at the Representative Office of Bertelsmann AG, Unter den Linden 1, in Berlin.
With immediate effect, applications for the KfW Award for Housing and Construction can be submitted online at www.kfw-awards.de
