HENSOLDT Secures Contract to Deliver Mobile Counter Drone Systems to Strengthen German Federal Police Security Capabilities

(IN BRIEF) HENSOLDT has been commissioned to supply highly mobile counter-drone systems to the German Federal Police, aimed at improving the detection, verification, and mitigation of unmanned aerial threats. The solution includes rapidly deployable vehicles equipped with advanced sensors, effectors, and an integrated operator station, supported by the Elysion Mission Core software that provides real-time situational awareness. Designed for flexible deployment across various environments, the systems will enhance security at critical infrastructure sites, airports, and large public events. As the project’s general contractor, HENSOLDT is overseeing the integration of all technological components, reinforcing its position as a provider of customized and mobile drone defense solutions.

(PRESS RELEASE) TAUFKIRCHEN, 17-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — HENSOLDT has secured a contract to deliver advanced, highly mobile counter-unmanned aircraft systems (c-UAS) to the German Federal Police, reinforcing the agency’s ability to detect and respond to drone-related threats.

The agreement covers the provision of specialized detection and verification vehicles designed to counter unmanned aircraft systems. These mobile units are engineered for rapid deployment and flexible use across a variety of operational environments, enabling law enforcement to monitor, assess, and, where necessary, neutralize drones that may pose risks to critical infrastructure or public safety.

Each vehicle is equipped with an integrated operator workstation along with a suite of mission-specific sensors and effectors. Depending on operational requirements, these components can be used either directly from within the vehicle or deployed externally to maximize coverage and protection.

At the core of the system is HENSOLDT’s Elysion Mission Core software, a platform that has been successfully utilized in multiple operational scenarios. The software aggregates and processes sensor inputs in real time, generating a comprehensive situational overview that supports rapid and informed decision-making. It also integrates with external systems, enabling coordinated airspace monitoring through interoperable interfaces.

As the lead contractor for the project, HENSOLDT is responsible for the integration of all system components, including IT infrastructure, software, sensors, and effectors. The vehicles themselves are being assembled by a specialized partner in line with the operational requirements defined by the German Federal Police.

The deployment of these systems is expected to significantly enhance the Federal Police’s capabilities over the coming year, particularly in securing sensitive environments such as airports, major public events, and other critical infrastructure sites.

Through this initiative, HENSOLDT further demonstrates its expertise in delivering tailored c-UAS solutions, particularly in mobile configurations, while contributing to the strengthening of internal security frameworks.
