(IN BRIEF) Vonovia is welcoming around 310 apprentices and dual-track students in August and September 2026, as the company begins its new training year. The new entrants will join commercial, technical, skilled trades and dual-track degree programmes across the housing group. Vonovia highlighted the role of its Skilled Trades Academy in Berlin, opened last year, which offers hands-on and digital training across about 3,500 square metres and can train up to 220 trainees per year. The academy focuses on energy and building technology, including future-oriented fields such as heat pumps and photovoltaics, while Vonovia also offers apprentices benefits such as pension contributions, capital-forming benefits, performance bonuses, stock ownership participation and, in some cases, support for a driver’s licence.

(PRESS RELEASE) BOCHUM, 7-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Vonovia is investing in the next generation of skilled workers, with around 310 apprentices and dual-track students beginning their careers at the company in August and September 2026.

The new starters will join a range of commercial, technical and skilled trades apprenticeship programmes, as well as several dual-track degree programmes, at Europe’s leading housing company.

The intake reflects Vonovia’s continued focus on developing talent internally and securing the skills needed for its long-term growth.

Ruth Werhahn, Chief Human Resources Officer at Vonovia, said training is a key lever for the company’s future development.

She said Vonovia is welcoming many young talents this year and preparing them for the needs of the business through practical, digital and consistent training.

A central element of Vonovia’s training approach is its training and continuing education centre in Berlin, which opened last year.

The company’s Skilled Trades Academy provides around 3,500 square metres of modern learning space and can support up to 220 trainees per year.

The academy focuses on application-oriented and digital training, with particular emphasis on energy and building technology.

It also covers future-oriented technologies such as heat pumps and photovoltaics, reflecting the growing importance of technical expertise in the housing and building sectors.

Vonovia offers apprenticeships in areas including plant mechanics, electronics, tile setting and painting.

The first graduating class from the academy has already successfully completed its journeyman’s examination.

Vonovia also reported strong demand for continuing education programmes at the academy.

The company said apprentices benefit from a range of additional advantages during their training.

These include a company pension plan, capital-forming benefits and performance-based bonuses.

From the second year of training, apprentices may also participate in Vonovia’s stock ownership programme.

In the skilled trades sector, trainees may also be eligible for a subsidy toward obtaining a driver’s licence.

Through its new intake of apprentices and dual-track students, and through the development of its Skilled Trades Academy, Vonovia is strengthening its long-term workforce pipeline while supporting practical training in trades, building technology and future energy-related skills.
