Ghent University PhD students won ‘Excellence in Law’ award at the International Academic Conference on Law and Politics

Ghent, Belgium, 8-5-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Angie Clocheret and Sibylle Van Belle, 2 assistant academic staff and PhD students in tax law at Ghent University, have won the ‘Excellence in Law’ award at the International Academic Conference on Law and Politics (IACLP) in Istanbul for their paper ‘Towards a more neutral income tax system’.

Their paper was elected by a jury of professors from 18 universities on the basis of its originality, technical strenght, the balance between theory and practice etc.The paper focusses on the one hand on the possibility of uniform and neutral treatment of income from self-employment and on the other hand of equity relative to debt from a national and international perspective.
