Focus on cooperation with EU and green finance ahead of December summit
LONDON, 10-Nov-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Sir Suma Chakrabarti held high-level talks with officials from the European Union (EU) on 7 November.
President Chakrabarti had meetings with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, Vice President Maroš Šefčovič and European Parliament President Antonio Tajani.
The discussions were aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the EU and the EBRD, with a particular focus on funding sustainable energy in the run-up to the Paris One Planet Summit on 12 December. The President also discussed cooperation in countries of common interest.
The President gave the closing remarks at a high-level conference on clean energy financing in the European Parliament, alongside Jerzy Buzek MEP, Chair of the ITRE Committee, and Miguel Arias-Cañete, Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy in the European Commission.
