Maricopa West completed ahead of schedule and under budget
Düsseldorf, 27-11-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — E.ON has completed another utility-scale solar project in the United States. Maricopa West, a 28 megawatt photovoltaic farm in Kern County in southern California, is now fully operational. A tracking system ensures that its 89,000 panels are always oriented toward the sun. Maricopa West was completed ahead of schedule and under its budget of roughly €50 million.
With regard to the strategy E.ON plans to develop more major solar projects in the United States through E.ON Solar, its San Francisco-based subsidiary. E.ON has completed several such projects in Arizona. Maricopa West is the second solar farm it has built in California.
