WIESBADEN, 16-May-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — In 2015, the birth rate in Germany was 1.50 children per woman. Although it is the highest figure since German reunification, the rate remains below the EU average of 1.58 children per woman. This is reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) in Wiesbaden.
France recorded the highest total fertility rate within the EU.
The fertility rates for Germany and the other EU countries are provided in the Eurostat database.
