WIESBADEN, 10-May-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — In February 2018 German local courts reported 1,624 business insolvencies. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was a 2.8% increase compared with February 2017.
In February 2018, the largest number of business insolvencies was recorded in construction (306 cases). 276 requests for insolvency proceedings were filed by businesses of the wholesale and retail trade sector (including repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles). In accommodation and food services, 195 requests were reported.
