WIESBADEN, 31-Aug-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — A total of 509,997 young people concluded new apprenticeship contracts in 2016. This was a decrease of 1.3% compared with a year earlier. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that management assistant for retail services ranked first again, accounting for 29,142 new apprenticeship contracts. It was followed by office manager, sales assistant for retail services, motor vehicle mechatronics technician and industrial clerk. These five most common vocational training occupations accounted for roughly a quarter of all newly concluded apprenticeship contracts.
