HANOVER, 04-Aug-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Continental’s ContiPremiumContact 5 has taken top spot in this year’s Ultimate tyre test from the UK’s no1 weekly selling car magazine, Auto Express.
For years the Auto Express summer tyre test has been the benchmark for performance, celebrating the best of the best in the summer tyre market. The awards continue to highlight exceptional performance, quality, safety, desirability and value. They are seen within the motoring industry as a stamp of approval that offers motoring enthusiasts confidence when looking for their next summer tyre purchase.
The Auto Express Ultimate tyre test pitted the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 against ten competitor summer tyres in size 205/55R16. The award recognises the ContiPremiumContact 5 across a broad spectrum, taking top spot for dry handling, wet handling and wet braking.
Auto Express said, “To win our test, a tyre needs to be a strong all-rounder. As our results show, the Continental is just that. It had an agility and directness others could only dream of. For a comfort tyre it was pretty sporty next to rivals.
It was a similar story on the wet track where it felt sharp and showed good traction out of turns. One of Continental’s performance targets is braking, and it had a big margin in the wet – more than three metres over the next best. Getting close to the best in the noise test secures another win for this tyre. ”
Scott Benbow, Product Marketing Manager at Continental said; “We are delighted to have been commended by Auto Express yet again in the latest summer tyre test. The ContiPremiumContact 5 only reiterates our leading position for safety.”
