4-2-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — The CBI commented on the publication of a 10-year Defence Equipment Plan by the Ministry of Defence.
Matthew Fell, CBI Director for Competitive Markets, said:
“Businesses have been urging the Government to provide more detail on its future defence equipment spending, so this publication is a step in the right direction.
“Greater visibility of how the MOD will allocate £160bn of spending over the next decade will give companies more certainty to make investment planning decisions in the UK.
“Businesses now look forward to working with the Government to establish the Defence Growth Partnership, which must take steps to strengthen key industrial skills and promote defence exports abroad.”
