Production has resumed at the Odda zinc smelter after operations were temporarily suspended last autumn.
15-1-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — In October, one of the direct leaching tanks suffered a serious technical failure and was immediately shut down. The three remaining tanks were also shut down for safety reasons while the problem was investigated, but were re-commissioned at the end of December and have been fully operational since then. Boliden Odda is now back up to its planned rate of production. The faulty leaching tank will be replaced with a new one, which is expected to be in place at the end of 2013.
