ZAANDAM, 30-Aug-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — Albert Heijn is continuing to search for new ways to serve customers. The brand announced this week that its store in Hoofddorp in the Netherlands will begin a 12-week test of a new app called “Find My Product” to help shoppers quickly and easily locate items in the store.
To use the app, customers simply type the name of the product they are looking for. The app then points the way using the Interact Retail indoor navigation system from Signify (formerly Philips Lighting). The navigation is enabled by the store’s lights, which send out unique codes that are captured by the camera on the app user’s smartphone. This allows the exact location of the phone – and the product – to be determined on a digital store map included in the app.
Find My Product is the latest in a growing line of innovations from Albert Heijn to offer shoppers greater convenience and choice. Earlier this year, the brand introduced Google Assistant for the Appie app, the My Nutritional Value online tool and Digital Pay.
