Riga, Latvia, 3-8-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Continuing a long-established tradition of holding ABLV summer events, last Saturday, on 25th of July 2015, in Ozo Golf Club an annual ABLV Invitational Golf Tournament took place. In this tournament, 92 golfers took part, among whom there were Latvian and foreign clients, business partners, ABLV group employees, as well as the members of Ozo Golf.
Around 20 beginners came to hit trial shots and try their luck on the golf-training field. When a professional instructor finished explaining the main rules and showing main shots, everyone could hit balls and take part in a mini-tournament.
Tournament rules and prizes
The tournament was held according to the Rules of Golf issued by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, individually for women and men. The score was calculated by the Stableford system. Since male golfers of different levels were competing, they were divided into four handicap groups. The women were competing without division.
In total, 14 winners received the prizes. There were two special awards for the farthest and closest shots. ABLV golf prizes are made of bronze glass by an artist and designer Anda Munkevice, upon a special order for ABLV Golf Tournament. Along with the awards, the winners received bottles of exclusive champagne Rene Prevot, produced by Rene Prevot champagne house, straight from Villers-Allerand in the mountains of Reims. This champagne can only be tasted either in France or in Latvia.
The winners of ABLV Invitational Golf Tournament 2015 are:
The winner of the shot Hole in One getting the golf ball into the cup N.13 with just one stroke was supposed to be awarded with ABLV VISA Infinite credit card with EUR 100 000. The distance to the cup is impressive — women stroke the ball from the distance of 90m, men hit the ball from the distance of 120m. Unfortunately, nobody succeeded to win the prize.
The golf players and guests highly appreciated the level of the event organisation. At the end of the tournament, the honorary Head of the Tournament Committee and ABLV Bank CEO Vadims Reinfelds said: “This tournament, already the seventh in succession, is a great indicator of our devotion to chosen strategies and values. We try to exceed the expectations of our clients and improve the quality of our services, including our events. In conclusion, let me quote a famous golfer Bernhard Langer who once said: “The more I practice, the luckier I get in tournaments.” I believe this is true both at work and sport. I hope we will make our clients happy with our financial achievements and new tournaments held at the very high level”.
