(PRESS RELEASE) THE HAGUE, 9-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — In celebration of the 125th anniversary of the first Hague Peace Conference, Eurojust is set to take part in the Just Peace Open Day 2024, an event that will bring peace and justice organizations from across The Hague together to connect with the public. The event will take place on 22 September 2024, with Eurojust hosting its activities at the House of Europe, located in the heart of The Hague.

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to interact with prosecutors who are actively engaged in tackling cross-border crime, gaining insights into the vital work that Eurojust does to uphold justice across Europe. Attendees can hear first-hand stories, participate in a justice-themed quiz, and explore Eurojust’s methods for solving complex legal cases.

Children can also get involved in the day’s activities, with a special evidence-finding challenge designed to introduce them to the world of justice and crime-solving in an engaging and educational way.

In addition to these interactive activities, two key presentations will be offered. Eurojust Vice-President Boštjan Škrlec will present in English from 10:30 to 11:30, while Dutch Liaison Prosecutor Alexander Van Dam will deliver a Dutch-language presentation from 14:30 to 15:30. These sessions will offer deeper insights into Eurojust’s international legal work and how it contributes to maintaining justice across borders.

While Eurojust’s main building will remain closed, the House of Europe will serve as the central hub for Eurojust’s participation in the event. This annual Open Day will provide an excellent chance for the public to learn more about how justice is pursued and achieved on an international scale.

The event is free, but interested attendees are encouraged to register in advance for the presentations. More details on registration and the full schedule are available online.
