VINCI Expands New Zealand Infrastructure Presence with Finalised Fletcher Construction Acquisition

(IN BRIEF) VINCI Construction has finalised its acquisition of Fletcher Construction in New Zealand, a transaction that strengthens its position in the country’s infrastructure market. Fletcher Construction, founded in 1909 and formerly part of Fletcher Building, employs more than 2,300 people and generates annual revenue of around €630 million, or NZ$1.3 billion. The company brings expertise in hydraulic, maritime, port, airport, railway and road works, as well as growing activity in renewable energy. The acquisition complements VINCI Construction’s existing New Zealand businesses, including HEB Construction in Auckland, SOL in Christchurch and Wharehine in the North Island. Together, these operations expand VINCI’s local network and reinforce its role as a major infrastructure player in New Zealand. VINCI generated more than €830 million in revenue in the country in 2025, and the addition of Fletcher Construction supports its strategy of building scale in markets with strong infrastructure growth prospects.

(PRESS RELEASE) NANTERRE , 29-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — VINCI Construction has completed the acquisition of Fletcher Construction in New Zealand, following the transaction first announced on 20 January 2026. The acquisition strengthens VINCI Construction’s footprint in the country and expands its position in a fast-growing infrastructure market.

Founded in 1909, Fletcher Construction is one of New Zealand’s established construction companies and was previously part of the Fletcher Building group. The company employs more than 2,300 people and generates annual revenue of approximately €630 million, equivalent to around NZ$1.3 billion.

Fletcher Construction’s core expertise spans several major infrastructure sectors, including hydraulic works, maritime and port projects, airports, railways and roads. The company is also increasing its activity in renewable energy, adding further strategic relevance as New Zealand continues to invest in infrastructure, energy transition and long-term development projects.

The acquisition adds another major local business to VINCI Construction’s New Zealand network. VINCI has already built a presence in the country through HEB Construction, based in Auckland and acquired in 2015, as well as SOL in Christchurch and Wharehine in the North Island, both acquired in 2025. Together, these companies give VINCI Construction a broader geographic reach and stronger local operating capabilities across New Zealand.

With Fletcher Construction now part of its activities, VINCI Construction is further reinforcing its proximity-based model, which relies on locally rooted companies with strong market knowledge and operational expertise. The acquisition positions VINCI Construction as a major player in New Zealand’s dynamic infrastructure sector, where demand is being driven by transport, energy, public works and broader national development needs.

Across all its businesses in New Zealand, VINCI generated revenue of more than €830 million in 2025. The integration of Fletcher Construction is expected to further expand the group’s scale and capabilities in the country, while supporting VINCI’s wider strategy of strengthening its construction activities in markets with long-term infrastructure growth potential.
