Indra Group’s Nuek Strengthens Payment Operations with AI-Driven Knowledge Automation and 99.99% Platform Availability

(IN BRIEF) Nuek, Indra Group’s payments technology company, has announced a new modernization phase for its digital payments platform, combining generative artificial intelligence with a cloud-native architecture developed on Google Cloud. Presented at Cloud AI Live Madrid 2026, the project aims to help critical payment operations manage higher transaction volumes, improve availability, increase scalability and boost operational efficiency. Nuek has adapted more than six million lines of code to support new business models, larger transaction loads and faster market deployment. A key part of the transformation is Nuek Intelligence, a generative AI platform based on RAG architecture that centralizes operational knowledge, automates processes and supports decision-making using internal documentation, contracts, costs, incidents and systems data. Built with Google’s Gemini models and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, the platform already automates incident classification with 89% accuracy, cuts critical information search times by 67% and improves operational efficiency by around 35%. Nuek’s cloud-native architecture also enables 99.99% availability, can multiply platform capacity tenfold during demand peaks and allows modernization without service downtime or transaction losses. The initiative forms part of the partnership between Indra Group and Google Cloud to modernize critical businesses through cloud, AI and next-generation architecture.

(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 29-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Nuek, Indra Group’s technology company specializing in payments, has announced a new stage in the modernization of its digital payments platform, introducing generative artificial intelligence capabilities and advancing its move toward a cloud-native architecture built on the Google Cloud technology ecosystem. The development was presented during Cloud AI Live Madrid 2026 and is designed to support the growing operational demands of critical payment services.

The modernization responds to major shifts in the payments industry, where platforms must handle larger transaction volumes, maintain very high availability, improve operational efficiency and adapt quickly to new business models. As part of this transformation, Nuek has adapted more than six million lines of code to an architecture capable of supporting higher transactional capacity, faster capability deployment and expansion into different markets.

Javier Rey, CEO of Nuek, said the company is building a new generation of digital payments capabilities that are more resilient, intelligent and ready to scale globally. He said the combination of cloud and generative AI allows Nuek to evolve its operating core and turn technology, knowledge and data into concrete benefits for customers.

A central element of the project is Nuek Intelligence, a generative AI platform created to centralize operational knowledge, automate processes and establish the foundation for a network of intelligent agents that can be integrated into different corporate environments. The platform is intended to support a more efficient, autonomous and scalable operating model for organizations managing complex payment operations.

Nuek Intelligence is based on a retrieval-augmented generation architecture, commonly known as RAG. This allows the platform to work directly with an organization’s internal knowledge, including technical documentation, contracts, costs, incidents, systems and processes. By grounding responses in this internal information, the solution provides contextualized, traceable answers aligned with each company’s operational reality.

The platform uses Google’s Gemini models through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, together with advanced semantic search capabilities. This enables Nuek Intelligence to interpret large volumes of information in real time and support faster decision-making in highly specialized and complex environments.

Nuek said the impact of the platform is already visible in daily operations. It automates incident classification with 89% accuracy, reduces the time needed to find critical information by 67%, and improves operational efficiency in different business areas by around 35%. The technology can also analyze the impact on critical systems immediately, accelerate code generation and improve knowledge management across expert teams.

Rey said operational knowledge is a critical asset for payments companies because technical documentation, incidents, costs, contracts, systems and processes must be interpreted quickly and accurately. He said Nuek Intelligence activates that knowledge through generative AI, helping teams make better decisions, respond faster and strengthen operational efficiency.

The second major component of the project is the cloud-native evolution of Nuek’s payments platform. This is designed to modernize critical systems without interrupting the daily operations of financial institutions, fintechs, retailers or end users. The architecture increases availability and scalability while supporting high-demand periods and progressive deployment across new markets without service downtime.

As a result of the modernization, Nuek can guarantee 99.99% service availability. The platform’s capacity can also be multiplied tenfold within seconds during peak demand periods, while new capabilities can be deployed more quickly. Nuek carried out the modernization in phases, keeping the platform operational throughout the process and avoiding transaction losses during migration.

Rey said the payments market requires services that are always available, able to respond in real time and capable of adapting to new volumes, customers and markets without affecting operational continuity. He added that Nuek’s cloud-native evolution strengthens resilience, elasticity and international deployment capacity, while cloud and AI become key levers in building a more flexible, efficient and data-driven company.

The development of Nuek Intelligence forms part of the broader collaboration between Indra Group and Google Cloud. The partnership is focused on accelerating the technological modernization of critical businesses through cloud services, artificial intelligence and next-generation architecture.
