Ahlstrom Maintains Highest CDP Supplier Engagement Rating as Climate Collaboration With Suppliers Advances

(IN BRIEF) Ahlstrom has achieved an A score in the 2025 CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment for the second consecutive year, recognising the company’s approach to engaging suppliers on climate-related issues. The assessment evaluates companies across areas such as governance, business strategy, climate targets, Scope 3 emissions, risk management and supplier engagement. For Ahlstrom, supplier collaboration is a key part of its sustainability agenda, with all suppliers expected to follow the company’s Code of Conduct or equivalent standards. The company said its supplier partnerships are built around continuous improvement, ESG integration, transparency and long-term value creation. The CDP recognition follows other recent sustainability achievements, including an A- Leadership score in the 2025 CDP Climate Disclosure and a Platinum medal in the 2025 EcoVadis assessment, placing Ahlstrom among the top one percent of assessed companies globally. The company’s climate progress is further supported by its 1.5°C-aligned near-term and long-term targets and net-zero targets, which were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative in 2024.

(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 28-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Ahlstrom has received an A score in the 2025 CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment, marking the second year in a row that the global fiber-based specialty materials company has achieved the highest possible rating.

The recognition reflects Ahlstrom’s continued work to advance climate action across its supplier network and strengthen climate-related collaboration throughout its value chain. The CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluates how companies engage suppliers on climate issues and measures performance across areas including governance, business strategy, climate targets, Scope 3 emissions, risk management processes and supplier engagement practices.

CDP uses the assessment to identify companies that are actively working with suppliers to reduce emissions, increase transparency and support the wider transition to a low-carbon economy. Supplier engagement is especially important because value chain emissions often represent a substantial share of a company’s overall climate impact.

At Ahlstrom, supplier cooperation forms a central part of the company’s sustainability strategy. The company expects all suppliers to commit to Ahlstrom’s Code of Conduct or demonstrate equivalent standards. Its partnerships are built around continuous improvement, responsible procurement and long-term value creation.

Bernard Arrateig, Supplier & Responsible Procurement Manager at Ahlstrom, said maintaining an A score for a second consecutive year demonstrates the company’s sustained commitment to climate action across its value chain. He noted that supplier cooperation is based on strong partnerships and a shared commitment to progress. In practice, this means integrating environmental, social and governance considerations into everyday supplier collaboration to improve transparency, drive continuous improvement and create long-term value for both Ahlstrom and its suppliers.

The CDP Supplier Engagement A rating adds to Ahlstrom’s wider sustainability performance in recent external assessments. The company also earned a Leadership score of A- in the 2025 CDP Climate Disclosure for the second consecutive year. In addition, Ahlstrom received a Platinum medal in the 2025 EcoVadis sustainability assessment, keeping the company among the top one percent of assessed companies globally.

Ahlstrom’s sustainability progress is also supported by its 1.5°C-aligned near-term and long-term climate targets, along with its net-zero targets, which were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative in 2024. These targets form part of the company’s broader work to reduce emissions, strengthen responsible sourcing and contribute to the transition toward a lower-carbon economy.
