(PRESS RELEASE) LA DÉFENSE, 27-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — SAP SE and S3NS have strengthened their collaboration to accelerate the adoption of trusted cloud solutions in France, with Thales Group becoming the first strategic customer under this initiative.

The partnership combines SAP’s enterprise software portfolio and Business AI capabilities with S3NS’s secure cloud infrastructure, enabling organizations in highly regulated industries to adopt cloud technologies while meeting strict compliance requirements. These sectors include public administration, aerospace and defense, as well as operators of critical national infrastructure.

This development represents a significant step in advancing trusted cloud adoption across France and Europe. S3NS, a joint venture between Thales and Google Cloud, provides a sovereign cloud platform designed to meet stringent regulatory standards. SAP’s RISE private cloud edition will be deployed through SAP Sovereign Cloud on S3NS’s SecNumCloud-certified platform, PREMI3NS, by the second half of 2026.

The deployment will allow organizations to run mission-critical workloads in a secure and compliant environment where data is stored, processed, and encrypted within France under national jurisdiction. At the same time, customers will retain access to SAP’s full suite of innovations, including advanced AI-driven capabilities.

Thomas Saueressig, Chief Customer Officer and Member of the Executive Board at SAP, emphasized that the collaboration enables businesses to combine scalability and innovation with strict regulatory compliance, supporting digital transformation without compromise.

Thales is leading the implementation as the first SAP customer to adopt this trusted cloud framework. The company is undertaking a major transformation of its ERP landscape by applying SAP’s “clean core” approach, aimed at enhancing flexibility and long-term adaptability. Core business functions such as finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement will be consolidated on the PREMI3NS platform.

Pascal Bouchiat, Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Thales, highlighted the importance of SAP in supporting complex industrial operations and noted that the move to a trusted cloud environment ensures the security, resilience, and compliance required by the group.

As part of the agreement, SAP has selected S3NS to expand its sovereign cloud ecosystem in France. The platform is designed to address concerns related to data protection and exposure to extraterritorial regulations, reinforcing the importance of digital sovereignty in Europe.

Martin Merz, President of SAP Sovereign Cloud, pointed to France’s leadership in defining standards for digital sovereignty and noted that the collaboration enables customers to run critical workloads securely within national borders while benefiting from cutting-edge cloud technology.

Hélène Bringer, President of S3NS, described SAP’s selection of S3NS as a strong validation of its strategy and capabilities. She added that the partnership strengthens the company’s ecosystem of software providers and enables regulated industries to access high-performance cloud solutions with enhanced guarantees of security and compliance.

S3NS currently supports more than 60 customers and offers a wide portfolio of managed services, with further expansion planned, including AI-related services such as Vertex AI to support digital transformation initiatives.

The collaboration sends a clear signal to the market that trusted cloud solutions are becoming scalable and viable for large enterprises and public sector organizations. It also demonstrates that organizations can accelerate their cloud and AI adoption strategies without compromising on regulatory requirements, marking a significant milestone in Europe’s digital transformation journey.
