MAN Truck & Bus to Supply Up to 1,000 Passenger Transport Vans for Police Operations

(IN BRIEF) MAN Truck & Bus has secured a four-year framework contract from the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, tendered by the Ministry’s Procurement Office, for the delivery of up to 1,000 MAN TGE vans for the German Federal Police and riot police forces of Germany’s federal states. The agreement covers up to 250 passenger transport vehicles per year, with the first deliveries scheduled for 2026, and represents one of the largest individual orders in the history of the MAN TGE. The vehicles, based on the MAN TGE 3.180 Kombi with 130 kW / 177 hp output and 410 Nm of torque, will be converted by MOSOLF Special Vehicles GmbH in Kippenheim with police-specific technology for use in public order and security tasks, including major events, demonstrations, border protection, federal facility security and railway policing. (PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 18-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — MAN Truck & Bus has received one of the largest individual orders in the history of the MAN TGE, after being awarded a framework contract by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior for up to 1,000 vans.

The tender was conducted by the Procurement Office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

The framework agreement covers the delivery of up to 250 passenger transport vehicles per year over a period of four years.

The vehicles are intended for use by the German Federal Police and the riot police forces of Germany’s federal states.

The first vehicles under the framework contract are scheduled to be delivered in 2026.

The MAN TGE will be used in future for public order and security operations, including deployments at major events such as sporting events and public demonstrations.

The vans will also support other duties carried out by the German Federal Police, including border protection, the security of federal facilities and railway policing.

The vehicles to be supplied are MAN TGE 3.180 Kombi passenger transporters.

They feature an output of 130 kW, equivalent to 177 hp, and a maximum torque of 410 Nm at 1,500 to 2,000 rpm.

Vehicle conversion will be carried out by MOSOLF Special Vehicles GmbH in Kippenheim, Germany.

The company will transform standard production vehicles into vans configured for official law enforcement duties.

The conversions will include police-specific technology and equipment required for operational use.
