Indra Group Presents Linkia at AirSpace World to Support More Digital, Automated and Interoperable Air Traffic Management

(IN BRIEF) Indra Group has launched Linkia, a digital platform developed to integrate air traffic management systems used by air navigation service providers into a common, independent, and scalable infrastructure. The solution, built with proprietary technology and based on IndraMind, is designed to support the modernization of ATM operations by allowing multiple applications from different providers and technological generations to operate within a unified environment. Linkia helps reduce reliance on isolated systems, simplifies operational complexity, and enables ANSPs to deploy, update, and scale applications in hours rather than through separate engineering projects. The platform supports on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployments while incorporating the safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements of the aeronautical sector. Indra Group plans to progressively incorporate artificial intelligence into the platform to support more automated, predictive, efficient, and secure air traffic management. The launch also supports the Digital European Sky vision for more modern, digitized, and interoperable air traffic systems.

(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 26-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Indra Group has introduced Linkia, a new digital platform designed to integrate the full range of air traffic management systems used by air navigation service providers into a common, independent, and scalable infrastructure.

The platform, developed natively with Indra Group’s proprietary technology, provides a flexible model that brings together different applications used by air navigation service providers within a single architecture. By creating a unified technological layer, Linkia incorporates the high standards and regulatory requirements of the air traffic management sector while addressing the growing challenges linked to safety, agility, technological modernization, and operational complexity in today’s air transport environment.

Indra Group will present Linkia at AirSpace World in Lisbon, the largest event for the air traffic industry. The company describes the platform as the first solution on the market specifically created to integrate all ATM systems of air navigation service providers into a shared, independent, and scalable digital infrastructure.

With this launch, Indra Group is aligning with the vision of the Digital European Sky, the European initiative focused on modernizing, digitizing, and improving interoperability across air traffic management systems. Linkia introduces a model that enables air navigation service providers to integrate the operation and updating of their applications into a common infrastructure, marking a structural shift in how ATM systems can be managed.

The platform has been designed specifically for the air traffic management environment and is based on IndraMind, Indra Group’s secure and cyber-resilient artificial intelligence platform for critical operations. Linkia responds to an increasingly complex operating landscape in which rising air traffic, congestion, and greater system interdependence are reshaping airspace management.

In modern air transport operations, incidents can create chain effects that require faster, more coordinated decision-making supported by real-time data. At the same time, many organizations continue to operate with legacy systems, rigid architectures, and strict regulatory requirements, which can slow technological progress and make system evolution more difficult.

Linkia addresses these challenges by acting as an intermediary software layer that allows multiple ATM applications to operate together within a unified infrastructure, regardless of provider or technological generation. This approach reduces the need for separate isolated environments and helps simplify operational complexity. Air navigation service providers can deploy, update, and scale applications within hours, without requiring separate infrastructure engineering projects for each implementation.

“With Linkia we’re taking a decisive step towards the transformation of the ANSP operating model. We’re not simply integrating systems; we’re changing the way in which ATM operations are managed. At Indra Group we’ve designed a platform that’s capable of progressing continuously, operating in critical systems, and simplifying operations, laying the foundations for the future of air traffic by combining technological innovation and applicable regulation,” said Victor Martínez, Executive Vice President of ATM at Indra.

The platform is built to operate in cloud environments while integrating the aeronautical industry’s security and regulatory requirements from the start. Its infrastructure-agnostic architecture supports deployment in on-premises systems as well as public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. This gives air navigation service providers the ability to move toward more digital operating models gradually and with greater control.

Linkia is also designed to support the progressive and safe introduction of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, under the specific regulatory requirements that apply to critical air traffic management operations. This approach is intended to support the long-term transition toward more automated, predictive, efficient, and secure ATM environments.

Indra Group brings decades of experience in complex air traffic management projects and continues to develop solutions that cover the full ATM cycle. Its portfolio includes ATM automation systems, radars, communications, navigation aids, digital towers, advanced simulation, drone management, and space solutions for air navigation. The company’s technology is used in more than 90% of daily flights worldwide.
