BAE Systems welcomes Caitlin Hayden as senior vice president of communications

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 5-Nov-2019 — /EuropaWire/ — BAE Systems, Inc. announces the appointment of Caitlin Hayden as senior vice president of communications.

Caitlin will lead BAE Systems’ external and internal communications activities in support of key business campaigns, community investment and employee engagement. Caitlin will report to President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tom Arseneault and is a member of the senior leadership team.

“With her national security expertise and extensive communications experience, Caitlin is well-positioned to drive the global narrative around our broad portfolio of innovative products and services. Caitlin will be a key voice on our senior leadership team as we support our aerospace and defense customers around the world,” said said Tom Arseneault, BAE Systems, Inc. President and COO.

Caitlin lead the Aerospace Industries Association’s outreach and communications functions as the vice president of communications. She worked with AIA member companies, including BAE Systems, to tell the aerospace and defense industry’s story in the U.S. and globally. Before joining AIA, Caitlin served as executive vice president and media group director for Edelman in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Caitlin has an extensive experience in the federal government, having served as a Special Assistant to President Barack Obama, Senior Director for Strategic Communications and Press, and spokesperson for the National Security Council. Prior to her work at the White House, Caitlin served with the Department of State in policy and communications assignments that spanned embassies and offices in Washington, D.C., Afghanistan, Iraq, and the United Kingdom.
