(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 15-Dec-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Ahlstrom, has once again been recognised for its climate performance, earning a Leadership score of A- in the 2025 CDP Climate Change disclosure for the second consecutive year. The recognition underscores the company’s continued commitment to climate action, transparency and measurable progress across its global operations and value chain. In addition to its climate score, Ahlstrom received a B rating in both the Water Security and Forests categories, reflecting solid progress across multiple environmental themes.

CDP’s assessment is based on detailed disclosures that evaluate corporate strategy, governance, targets, risk management, opportunities and concrete actions taken over the reporting period. Ahlstrom’s Climate Change score highlights a structured and long-term approach to reducing emissions, supported by systematic execution and clear accountability. The Water Security and Forests ratings further demonstrate the company’s ongoing efforts in managing natural resources responsibly and identifying areas for continued improvement.

Central to Ahlstrom’s climate performance is its energy transition programme, which has delivered tangible emissions reductions. Since 2021, the company has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 absolute emissions by 23%, illustrating the effectiveness of its initiatives. During 2024, Ahlstrom also intensified its engagement with suppliers to address Scope 3 emissions, reinforcing its ambition to reduce carbon impact throughout the entire value chain.

The CDP recognition adds to a series of sustainability milestones achieved by Ahlstrom in recent years. In 2025, the company was awarded a Platinum medal from EcoVadis, placing it among the top one percent of companies globally for environmental, social and governance performance. Ahlstrom also received an A score in CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment in the 2024 disclosure, reflecting strong performance in governance, business strategy, Scope 3 reporting, target-setting, risk management and supplier collaboration.

Together, these achievements highlight Ahlstrom’s position as a leader in sustainable fiber-based specialty materials and its ongoing commitment to accelerating climate action while strengthening transparency and accountability across its operations.
