The joint venture, in which Symrise holds the majority and operational management, will leverage Sunner’s expertise in chicken breeding, farming, feed processing, and meat processing to manufacture and market high-quality and sustainable egg proteins under the Symrise Pet Food brand, Nutrios. The joint venture will supply the China pet food market with sustainable and high-quality egg solutions. Symrise has established a leading position in the egg protein and ingredients business through the acquisition of IsoNova in the USA in 2019 and Schaffelaarbos in the Netherlands in 2022. Symrise also recently reinforced its Pet Food leadership in APAC with the completion of a new factory in China in 2021 and the acquisition of Wing Biotech in mid-2022.

Under the strategic partnership, Symrise will hold the majority and operational management of the joint venture, which will leverage Sunner’s expertise in chicken breeding and farming, feed processing, and meat processing. The joint venture will manufacture and market high-quality and sustainable egg proteins under the Symrise Pet Food brand, Nutrios. The collaboration will take place at a new facility in China, and the products will be sold under the Nutrios brand.
