ZF Strengthens Role as Systems Partner for Europe’s Defense Industry with Eurosatory 2026 Technology Portfolio

(IN BRIEF) ZF will present its defense and special vehicle technology portfolio at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris from June 15 to 19, under the theme “Together on Mission.” Drawing on more than 50 years of experience in defense and special vehicle applications, the company is positioning itself as a reliable systems partner for Europe’s defense industry, with solutions designed to reduce complexity, improve efficiency and support flexible vehicle development. ZF will showcase driveline technologies for wheeled and tracked vehicles, including the eLSG 5000 electrified powershift steering transmission developed as part of the European Main Ground Combat System programme, as well as established systems such as LSG 1100 and LSG 3000. The company will also present chassis and braking technologies for extreme operating conditions, including suspension systems, corner modules, hydraulic and pneumatic braking systems, and enhanced fording-capable solutions. In addition, ZF will highlight engineering, testing and production support services for defense OEMs, along with ZF Defense Connect, a digital solution supporting fleet coordination, logistics, medical evacuation, disaster response and civil-military cooperation.

(PRESS RELEASE) FRIEDRICHSHAFEN/ PARIS, 8-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — ZF will showcase its defense and special vehicle technology portfolio at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, positioning itself as a long-term partner for Europe’s defense industry under the theme “Together on Mission.”

The global defense and security event will take place from June 15 to 19, with ZF presenting its solutions in Hall 6, Booth G379. The Group will highlight more than five decades of experience in defense and special vehicle applications, combining established technologies, mission-specific development capabilities and industrial-scale manufacturing expertise.

ZF’s offering is designed to support defense vehicle manufacturers in reducing complexity, improving efficiency and increasing flexibility across vehicle development and production. The company’s systems approach covers driveline technologies, chassis and braking systems, engineering services, testing capabilities, production support and digital solutions for fleet coordination and interoperability.

“When it comes to defense or crisis response, vehicles must empower confident decisions through reliability, predictable performance and operational efficiency. ZF offers the solutions that support this kind of confidence,” said Ralf Boss, Head of Product Line Special Vehicle Systems.

As a systems provider, ZF uses modular architectures that allow subsystems to be integrated efficiently while leaving room for customer-specific requirements. This approach supports shorter development cycles, easier vehicle integration and dependable performance in demanding operating environments, from early concept development through to series production.

A key focus at Eurosatory will be ZF’s driveline portfolio for wheeled and tracked defense vehicles. For wheeled platforms, the company draws on its experience as a global Tier 1 automotive supplier, offering automatic transmissions, transfer cases and electrified drive systems that can be applied across light, medium and heavy defense vehicles. Solutions such as EcoLife Offroad 2, TC 27 and CeTrax 2 dual serve as modular technology building blocks for a broad range of defense platforms.

ZF will also highlight the expansion of its tracked vehicle portfolio with the eLSG 5000 electrified powershift steering transmission. The system, developed as part of the European Main Ground Combat System programme, builds on ZF’s established tracked vehicle transmission expertise, including systems such as the LSG 1100 and LSG 3000.

Alongside driveline technologies, ZF will present chassis and braking systems engineered for extreme operational conditions. The chassis portfolio includes suspension and steering components, complete axle system solutions and pre-assembled independent front suspension corner modules. Systems such as OptiDamp, Airtrac X and APL 90 form part of the company’s broader offering for demanding vehicle architectures.

The corner module combines suspension, damping and steering-related components into a pre-integrated unit that can be adapted to different vehicle platforms and mission profiles. Designed for high axle loads and challenging off-road conditions, the modular system helps simplify integration while supporting robust vehicle performance.

ZF’s braking technologies for defense applications include electronic and conventional hydraulic and pneumatic systems developed for harsh duty cycles and severe environmental conditions. Solutions such as the Modular Braking System Platform mBSP XBS and advanced brake actuators provide enhanced fording capability, supporting stable braking performance and safety during deep-water crossings and under high thermal stress.

Beyond components and vehicle systems, ZF will demonstrate its engineering and service capabilities across the full lifecycle of defense vehicle programmes. These include system and software development, simulation, integration and validation of complex, safety-critical systems.

The Group also offers testing expertise, turnkey test benches and testing services designed to verify performance, durability and safety under realistic extreme conditions. These capabilities can help accelerate certification, reduce development timelines and support OEMs during ramp-up or series production by providing manufacturing know-how and production capacity.

ZF will also present ZF Defense Connect, a digital solution for coordination, logistics and civil-military cooperation. Based on the company’s proven Rescue Connect platform, ZF Defense Connect is designed to improve information availability and interoperability across use cases such as logistics, medical evacuation and disaster response.

Through its presence at Eurosatory 2026, ZF aims to demonstrate how integrated technologies, modular systems and digital capabilities can support more reliable, efficient and adaptable defense vehicle programmes for Europe and allied markets.
