Franprix and Monoprix Growth Plans Advance as Casino Group Deepens Partnership with the Zouari Family

(IN BRIEF) Casino Group and the Zouari Family have signed a new partnership agreement to strengthen their long-standing cooperation and accelerate the growth of the Franprix and Monoprix convenience retail networks. The partnership builds on more than 25 years of collaboration, during which the Zouari Family has contributed to the development of the two brands through its field expertise, strong presence in Paris and the Paris region, and deep understanding of local customer needs. Under the new structure, the Franprix development vehicle will be organized as a capital partnership, with the Zouari Family holding around 60% and Franprix around 40%, initially covering about 30 Franprix stores. This mirrors the existing Monoprix structure, which operates around 50 Monop’ stores. The two structures are intended to support the opening, acquisition and development of new stores, while Franprix is also expected to take full ownership of Pro Distribution, which would operate around 90 stores. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and required social procedures, with completion expected by the end of 2026.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 8-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Casino Group and the Zouari Family are reinforcing their historic partnership with a new agreement designed to accelerate the development of convenience retail through the Franprix and Monoprix brands.

The partnership builds on more than 25 years of cooperation between Casino Group and the Zouari Family, whose expertise in convenience retail has supported the growth of both Franprix and Monoprix. The two partners share the view that convenience retail plays an increasingly important role in changing consumer habits, particularly as customers seek greater accessibility, practical everyday services, proximity, local store networks and efficient last-mile solutions.

With a strong presence in Paris and the wider Paris region, the Zouari Family has developed deep knowledge of local markets, customer expectations and store-level operations. This field-based expertise, combined with strong execution capabilities and the ability to adapt to specific local conditions, has contributed to the growth and performance of the Franprix and Monoprix networks over the years.

Casino Group and the Zouari Family now plan to open a new phase in their collaboration through a more transparent, agile and development-focused organization. The signing of a new partnership contract reflects the partners’ shared intention to accelerate the expansion of Franprix and Monoprix while maintaining operational quality and preserving the expertise built through their long-standing relationship.

As part of the new structure, the organization dedicated to the development of the Franprix network will be based on a capital partnership between the Zouari Family and Franprix. The Zouari Family will hold approximately 60% of this structure, while Franprix will hold approximately 40%. The entity will initially operate around 30 Franprix stores.

This model is aligned with the structure already established for Monoprix, through a dedicated vehicle that currently operates around 50 Monop’ stores. Together, these two structures are intended to support a new phase of growth, combining experienced operational teams, the strength of the historic partnership and enhanced investment and development capacity.

The joint vehicles will support network expansion through the opening, acquisition and development of new Franprix and Monop’ stores. In parallel, Franprix is expected to acquire full ownership of Pro Distribution, in which it previously held a 73% stake. Pro Distribution would then operate around 90 stores.

The final completion of the transaction remains subject to standard conditions, including the granting of required regulatory approvals, particularly from the Competition Authority, as well as the completion of the necessary social procedures. Closing is expected by the end of 2026.

Philippe Palazzi, Chief Executive Officer of Casino Group, said the development marks a new step in the Group’s partnership with the Zouari Family and reflects Casino Group’s ambition to strengthen an agile, entrepreneurial and growth-oriented convenience retail model. He added that working with a long-standing partner committed to the Group’s brands gives Casino Group the means to accelerate the development of Franprix and Monoprix while reinforcing the momentum of its network.

Moez-Alexandre Zouari said the family has believed deeply in convenience retail for more than 30 years, describing it as a solid and modern model that responds to customer expectations for stores that are closer, more practical and more responsible. He added that the new commitment reflects confidence in the potential of Franprix and Monoprix, as well as a desire to accelerate their growth with an entrepreneurial mindset and stronger investment capacity.

Antoine Aussour, Executive Director of the convenience division of the Zouari Family Office, said the family’s strength lies in its detailed knowledge of the field and customers, its experienced teams and its close relationship with stores. He noted that the new step provides a strong framework to accelerate development while remaining close to customers, teams and market expectations.

Pursuant to the European Commission’s Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1055 of 29 June 2016, relating to the technical procedures for the publication and deferral of inside information, this press release was communicated to Casino’s authorized distributor for release on 8 June 2026 at 8:00 CET.
