Powerful and efficient: the AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle specifically designed for low floor buses, delivers up to 360 kW continuous power, double that of its predecessor for approximately the same weight.

(IN BRIEF) ZF will present its latest technologies for sustainable public transportation at busworld Türkiye in Istanbul from June 17 to 19, 2026, highlighting solutions for electrification, safety and digital fleet management. The company will showcase the AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle for city buses, which offers average energy consumption savings of 20 percent in SORT cycles compared with its predecessor and can help operators reduce battery capacity needs or increase vehicle range. The axle is enhanced by ZF’s new health check software-as-a-service solution, which uses remote e-drive data analysis for condition monitoring and early fault detection, improving vehicle availability and reducing operating costs. ZF will also present the e-comp Scroll oil-free air compressor for hybrid, battery-electric and fuel-cell commercial vehicles, along with a GSR II compliant ADAS suite for buses that includes Intelligent Speed Assist, Blind Spot Information and Driver Drowsiness Warning. In addition, ZF will demonstrate ZF Bus Connect, a telematics platform designed to provide real-time vehicle data, battery analytics, drivetrain condition monitoring and fleet performance optimization for bus operators and manufacturers.

(PRESS RELEASE) FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, 8-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — ZF will showcase its latest technologies for efficient, safe and sustainable public transportation at busworld Türkiye, taking place in Istanbul from June 17 to 19, 2026. The company will present a broad portfolio covering electrified driveline systems, active safety technologies and digital fleet solutions designed to help bus manufacturers and operators reduce total cost of ownership while meeting changing regulatory and operational requirements.

Türkiye is an increasingly important market and manufacturing hub for ZF, particularly as the country continues to serve both domestic bus demand and export-oriented production. With a strong local presence and expertise across digital systems, safety technologies and driveline solutions, ZF is positioning itself as a long-term partner for the development of Türkiye’s modern and sustainable bus sector.

A key focus at the exhibition will be ZF’s AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle for city buses. Compared with the previous generation, the system can deliver average energy consumption savings of 20 percent in SORT, or Standardized On-Road Test, cycles. This efficiency improvement can help operators either reduce battery capacity requirements or extend vehicle range, supporting more cost-effective electrification of urban bus fleets.

The AxTrax 2 LF is also supported by ZF’s new health check condition monitoring software. Delivered as a software-as-a-service solution, the system remotely analyzes e-drive data to support condition monitoring and early fault detection. By helping operators identify potential issues earlier, the software is designed to improve vehicle availability, support predictive maintenance and lower operating costs.

ZF will also present its latest air compressor technology for electric commercial vehicles. The e-comp Scroll is an oil-free compressor developed for medium- and heavy-duty hybrid, battery-electric and fuel-cell vehicles. Using interlocking scrolls to generate compressed air, the system is engineered to produce very low levels of noise and vibration. At a nominal operating point of 250 liters per minute, noise emissions are limited to around 67 dB(A), helping meet noise, vibration and harshness requirements that become increasingly important as electrified commercial vehicles operate more quietly.

In active safety, ZF will display its General Safety Regulation II compliant advanced driver assistance systems portfolio for buses. The scalable ADAS suite combines camera, radar and software functions and includes technologies such as Intelligent Speed Assist, Blind Spot Information and Driver Drowsiness Warning. These systems are designed to improve safety for drivers, passengers and vulnerable road users while helping bus operators and manufacturers meet evolving regulatory requirements.

ZF will also highlight ZF Bus Connect, its dedicated telematics solution for bus fleets. The platform provides real-time vehicle data and greater operational transparency through flexible product packages and broad integration options. Designed specifically for bus applications, ZF Bus Connect enables operators and manufacturers to monitor vehicle status, improve fleet performance and support predictive maintenance strategies.

Recent implementations of ZF Bus Connect include expanded battery analytics and condition monitoring for ZF drivetrain technologies such as the AxTrax 2 LF. These capabilities allow fleet operators to better understand vehicle health, optimize operational planning and manage electric bus fleets more effectively.

ZF will exhibit at busworld Türkiye in Hall 2, stand A02. The company’s press conference will take place on June 17 at 4 p.m.
