(IN BRIEF) Kuehne+Nagel has expanded its own-controlled air freight network by adding Frankfurt to the rotation of its Inspire Boeing 747-8 freighter, strengthening connectivity across North America, Europe and Asia. The updated weekly route now links Chicago, Frankfurt and Atlanta, creating a direct connection between two major pharmaceutical production and distribution hubs and supporting the transport of time-sensitive healthcare shipments. Operated by Atlas Air under a long-term charter, the Inspire aircraft offers around 140 tonnes of cargo capacity and is designed to carry high-value, complex and urgent freight across key trade lanes. Effective June 2026, the enhanced rotation connects Atlanta, Chicago, Frankfurt, Liège, Sharjah and Taipei, supporting industries such as pharmaceuticals, aerospace, high-tech, semiconductors and cloud infrastructure. The expansion forms part of Kuehne+Nagel’s broader effort to scale its own-controlled air logistics capacity, which includes more than 100 weekly charter connections worldwide, while improving reliability, speed, flexibility and service consistency for global customers.

(PRESS RELEASE) SCHINDELLEGI, 8-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Kuehne+Nagel has strengthened its own-controlled air freight network by adding Frankfurt to the rotation of its Inspire aircraft, enhancing global connectivity across major trade lanes linking North America, Europe and Asia.

The expanded rotation reinforces Kuehne+Nagel’s ability to provide reliable capacity for high-value, time-sensitive and complex shipments. Frankfurt, one of Europe’s most important air cargo gateways, handles around 2 million tonnes of cargo each year and plays a key role in supporting international flows of pharmaceutical, healthcare, technology and other priority goods.

With Frankfurt now included in the Inspire rotation, Kuehne+Nagel is further improving transatlantic connectivity, particularly between Europe and North America. The updated weekly route runs from Chicago to Frankfurt and continues to Atlanta, directly linking Frankfurt and Chicago, two major hubs for pharmaceutical production and distribution. This connection is designed to support the movement of time-sensitive healthcare cargo and strengthen supply chain reliability for customers operating in regulated and high-demand sectors.

Inspire is Kuehne+Nagel’s own-controlled Boeing 747-8 freighter operated under a long-term charter by Atlas Air. The Boeing 747-8F is the largest cargo aircraft produced by Boeing and offers a cargo capacity of around 140 tonnes, making it suitable for transporting high-value, oversized and complex freight across major global trade routes.

Effective June 2026, the revised Inspire rotation improves connections across strategic transatlantic and Asia-Europe corridors. The network now links Atlanta, Chicago, Frankfurt, Liège, Sharjah and Taipei, creating an expanded logistics bridge for industries that require dependable speed, capacity and service consistency.

The enhanced network is particularly relevant for sectors such as pharmaceuticals, aerospace, high-tech, semiconductors and cloud infrastructure, where supply chains depend on precise timing, controlled handling and reliable international transport capacity.

“Frankfurt is one of Europe’s leading air cargo and pharmaceutical hubs, linking regional production with global markets. The expanded Inspire rotation provides customers with capacity, reliability and greater global connectivity for both healthcare shipments and other time-sensitive cargo, including high-tech and semiconductor flows,” said Martin Schaefer, SVP Air Logistics Germany at Kuehne+Nagel.

Kuehne+Nagel continues to build out its own-controlled air freight capacity, which now includes more than 100 weekly charter connections worldwide. Through its scalable network and gateway model, the company aims to strengthen reliability, speed and consistency across its air logistics services while maintaining the flexibility needed to respond to changing trade patterns and customer requirements.
