Rolls-Royce wins multi-million euros contract to provide safety I&C systems for the Nuclear Power Generation Laboratory in Brazil

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 21-Nov-2019 — /EuropaWire/ — Rolls-Royce to provide safety Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems for the Nuclear Power Generation Laboratory (LABGENE), located in São Paulo, Brazil. LABGENE is currently under construction and which will be operated by the Navy Technology Center in São Paulo (CTMSP). The multi-million euros contract was awarded by ATECH.

In the agreement, Rolls-Royce will provide the main Reactor Protection System (RPS), including the Reactor Trip System (RTS) and the Engineered Safety Actuation System (ESFAS), based on its proven digital I&C technology Spinline® ; the priority logic system, based on its latest non-programmed technology HardlineTM ; as well as the individual actuator control and protection system including the post-accident monitoring system (PAMS), made of a combination of Spinline®, HardlineTM and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Rolls-Royce I&C centre of excellence based in Grenoble, France will design, manufacture, test and install the nuclear I&C systems. Rolls-Royce I&C centre has already provided I&C solutions to 150 nuclear power reactors, research reactors and laboratories.
