(IN BRIEF) Wood has been awarded a three-year contract by Equinor to provide lifecycle information services across nearly 100 Norwegian assets, including offshore installations, subsea sites and onshore plants. The work will include managing technical information updates, maintaining lifecycle information records and overseeing data within Equinor’s System for Technical Information and Documentation platform. Wood will also deploy a newly developed work management system to streamline technical information management and engineering workflows, improving transparency, traceability and change-request lead times. The contract will be delivered by around 35 Wood employees in Norway, supported by the company’s global engineering network, and builds on more than 25 years of Wood’s support for Equinor operations.

(PRESS RELEASE) ABERDEEN, 11-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Wood has secured a new contract from Equinor to provide lifecycle information services across nearly 100 assets in Norway, including offshore installations, subsea sites and onshore plants.

The agreement is designed to improve data quality, operational efficiency and decision-making across Equinor’s asset portfolio.

Under the three-year contract, Wood will manage technical information updates, maintain lifecycle information records and oversee data within Equinor’s System for Technical Information and Documentation, known as STID.

STID is Equinor’s authoritative platform for technical documentation, tags and equipment data, as well as asset, facility and lifecycle information for plants, wells and equipment.

The system forms part of Equinor’s broader lifecycle information landscape and is used throughout the asset lifecycle, from engineering and project execution to operations and decommissioning.

As part of the contract, Wood will deploy a newly developed work management system to improve the handling of technical information and engineering workflows.

The digital solution is designed to increase transparency and traceability, reduce manual work and shorten lead times for change requests.

It will also create a foundation for future AI-enabled capabilities.

Wood said the work will help ensure that critical technical information remains accurate, accessible and actionable throughout the full lifecycle of Equinor’s assets.

Tom Johansson, Interim Senior Vice President, Norway, at Wood, said the agreement reflects the strength of Wood’s long-standing relationship with Equinor and the two companies’ shared focus on improving the management of critical technical information across complex assets.

He said Wood brings more than 25 years of experience supporting Equinor’s operations, along with domain expertise, digital capability and delivery knowledge.

Johansson added that these capabilities will help strengthen data integrity, reduce operational risk and ensure Equinor’s technical information remains reliable and accessible for future projects.

The work will be delivered by around 35 existing and newly hired Wood employees based in Norway.

They will be supported by Wood’s global engineering network.

The contract builds on Wood’s long-standing relationship with Equinor.

Most recently, Wood secured two five-year frame agreements covering maintenance and modifications services, as well as larger modification projects, across installations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and associated onshore plants.

In 2025, Wood was also awarded a $27 million engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for infrastructure upgrades at the Snorre field.

Through the new lifecycle information services contract, Wood will support Equinor in strengthening the quality, consistency and usability of technical data across a broad portfolio of assets, helping the company manage complex operations more efficiently and prepare for future digital and AI-enabled asset management capabilities.
