(PRESS RELEASE) LEIDEN, 5-Nov-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — IKEA has launched its first high street restaurant in the UK, allowing fans of its iconic Swedish meatballs to enjoy a meal without visiting a full IKEA store. Located in Hammersmith, West London, this new dining spot sits adjacent to the recently updated IKEA Hammersmith City Store on King Street. The restaurant offers a range of classic IKEA dishes, including meatballs, plant-based options, and kid-friendly meals, alongside traditional Swedish “fika” breaks with coffee and treats.

Seating up to 75 diners, the restaurant is part of IKEA UK’s broader initiative to bring its services closer to customers by opening smaller city stores and mobile pick-up points. To celebrate the opening, IKEA Hammersmith is offering IKEA Family Members a £5 discount when they spend £5 or more in-store on the same day through the end of November.

With more than 100 mobile pick-up points in collaboration with Tesco and additional city stores planned for Oxford Street and Brighton, IKEA aims to create a more accessible shopping and dining experience for its UK customers.
