Guangdong Guanhao High-Tech Secures Independence in Pulp Production with New ANDRITZ Partnership

(IN BRIEF) ANDRITZ will supply a new 400,000-ton annual capacity chemi-mechanical pulp production line to Zhanjiang China Paper Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangdong Guanhao High-Tech in China. This new line will reduce the company’s reliance on market pulp, enhancing its competitiveness in producing high-end white cardboard. ANDRITZ will provide complete technology and equipment for the pulp production process, focusing on efficiency, quality, and minimal environmental impact. This project extends the longstanding partnership between ANDRITZ and Guangdong Guanhao, dating back to 1995.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 23-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Guangdong Guanhao High-Tech Co., Ltd., a prominent Chinese manufacturer of premium white cardboard and specialty papers, is set to revolutionize its production capabilities with the installation of a state-of-the-art chemi-mechanical pulp production line. The new line, supplied by international technology group ANDRITZ, will be established at Zhanjiang China Paper Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangdong Guanhao, in Guangdong Province.

This strategic move is designed to eliminate the company’s current reliance on external market pulp, a dependency that has posed significant limitations on its high-end white cardboard production. With the new in-house P-RC APMP (Pre-Conditioning Refiner Chemical Alkaline Peroxide Mechanical Pulp) line, Guangdong Guanhao will not only mitigate raw material risks but also enhance its competitive edge in the market.

“The reliance on market chemi-mechanical pulp has been a bottleneck in our operations,” commented Zhao Guohong, Deputy General Manager of Guangdong Guanhao and Chief Project Director of Zhanjiang China Paper. “With ANDRITZ’s cutting-edge technology, we will achieve self-sufficiency in pulp production, thereby increasing our production efficiency and product quality.”

ANDRITZ, a global leader in providing innovative solutions for the pulp and paper industry, will deliver a complete mechanical pulping line that boasts an impressive annual capacity of 400,000 tons. This advanced system is designed to produce high-quality pulp with minimal energy consumption and environmental impact. The scope of ANDRITZ’s supply includes critical equipment for wood chip washing, impregnation, refining, bleaching, and screening, alongside installation supervision, commissioning, start-up, and training services.

“We are excited to collaborate with Guangdong Guanhao on this significant project,” said Shi Wei, Vice President of Paper & Textile APAC at ANDRITZ. “Our customer-centric approach ensures that we deliver technology and services that not only meet but exceed industry standards, making this project a benchmark in the field.”

This development marks another milestone in the longstanding partnership between ANDRITZ and China Paper Investment Co., Ltd., the parent company of Guangdong Guanhao. Their collaboration, which dates back to 1995, has consistently focused on high-quality production with a commitment to reducing environmental impact.

The installation of this advanced pulp line is expected to be a game-changer for Guangdong Guanhao, positioning the company as a more resilient and competitive player in the global paper industry.
