(PRESS RELEASE) HILLSBOROUGH, 14-Feb-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — GRAHAM is pleased to announce that three of its talented team members – Karl Lomas, Sean Withe, and TaraMia Devine – have earned their ICE Professional Qualification Awards, a remarkable milestone in their civil engineering careers.

This accomplishment underscores their commitment to professional growth and civil engineering excellence, highlighting the wealth of talent within GRAHAM.

Karl Lomas, who has been with GRAHAM for over a decade, shared his thoughts on the apprenticeship route:
“I started my journey as a technical apprentice, and now, after ten years, I’m proud to hold the title of Project Manager, working on complex rail, highways, and bridge projects. My apprenticeship gave me the technical expertise and hands-on experience I needed to thrive in this field. It’s not the traditional path, but it works.”
Karl’s journey is a testament to GRAHAM’s commitment to nurturing talent. He is the first apprentice in the UK to complete five years at university, earning a first-class honours degree, and he has now achieved Incorporated Engineer status (IEng MICE).

Sean Withe expressed his pride in his qualification and the support he received during his journey:
“There were moments when I doubted myself, but having earned my qualification and now being an accredited Engineering Technician (EngTech MICE), I feel a great sense of achievement. I’m grateful to my colleagues and the ICE staff for their constant encouragement throughout the process. I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my career!”

TaraMia Devine, who joined GRAHAM as a Professional Apprentice in 2021, also celebrated her success:
“After three years of immersive experience, I felt ready to pursue my qualification as an Engineering Technician (EngTech MICE) with ICE. The mentorship I’ve received here has been invaluable, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited to continue progressing toward my Chartered status.”

This success reflects GRAHAM’s ongoing dedication to supporting its people and their aspirations. These three professionals’ journeys exemplify the importance of mentorship, professional development, and the commitment to the civil engineering industry.
