(PRESS RELEASE) ESSEN, 5-Apr-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Henkel (ETR: HEN3), a German chemical and consumer goods company, announces that Henkel Adhesive Technologies is set to showcase its range of sustainable and safe packaging solutions at the upcoming METPACK exhibition in Essen, Germany, from May 2 to 6. The company’s stand (1C38 in Hall 1) will feature resource-efficient, energy-saving surface treatment solutions, coatings, and sealants.

As a leading metal pretreatment expert, Henkel has developed innovative packaging solutions for food, beverages, and household products that focus on safety and sustainability. The company’s product portfolio is designed to avoid the use of basic substances such as bisphenol A (BPA) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

At the METPACK conference, Henkel will present its Triple Safety program, which ensures that all substances used in its products undergo toxicological assessments to eliminate harmful substances. The company has partnered with the Austrian research and testing institute OFI to assess BPA-NI coatings for metal packaging with a focus on food contact safety.

A notable product highlight is the new low-temperature cleaner, Bonderite C-IC 72000, designed for the surface treatment of beverage cans. It cleans at a lower temperature of 43 degrees Celsius (110°F) compared to conventional cleaners at 60 degrees Celsius (140°F), reducing natural gas consumption and the carbon footprint of the facility. The cleaner also produces less foam, optimizing water consumption.

Visitors to the exhibition will see how Henkel helps its customers achieve their sustainability goals using packaging products such as cans for foods, drinks, and aerosols. The company will also demonstrate the production process of drinks cans, from coil to can.
