BT to Deliver Advanced Global Network and Security Infrastructure for BAE Systems Across 40 Countries

(IN BRIEF) BT Group has entered into a new five-year agreement with BAE Systems to provide secure connectivity services supporting the defence company’s operations in 40 countries. The deal, which can be extended for up to three additional years, will support BAE Systems’ digital transformation efforts through resilient and secure networking infrastructure that enables operational flexibility and access to digital tools in specialist environments. The partnership also aligns with BT’s broader strategy of delivering sovereign and secure communications platforms for organisations operating in defence, manufacturing and critical infrastructure sectors where reliability, cybersecurity and compliance are increasingly important.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 14-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — BT Group has secured a new multi-year agreement with BAE Systems to provide advanced secure connectivity services supporting the defence company’s operations across the UK and internationally. The five-year contract, which includes an option to extend for an additional three years, will support BAE Systems’ extensive global network spanning 40 countries and forms part of the company’s broader digital transformation ambitions.

Under the agreement, BT will deliver resilient and highly secure network infrastructure designed to support flexible working practices and provide reliable access to digital tools across specialist and operational environments. The partnership is intended to strengthen BAE Systems’ ability to modernise its digital ecosystem while improving operational efficiency, agility and innovation throughout the business.

The contract also reinforces BT’s growing focus on secure sovereign connectivity solutions for organisations operating in sensitive sectors and regulated environments. Earlier this year, BT introduced a sovereign platform aimed at supporting businesses and public sector organisations requiring enhanced data security, operational resilience and compliance capabilities. The new collaboration with BAE Systems extends that strategy into the defence and critical infrastructure sectors, where dependable and secure communications remain essential.

Chris Sims, Chief Commercial Officer at BT Business, said the partnership reflects the importance of highly resilient networks for organisations operating in mission-critical environments. He noted that BT’s experience in delivering complex and secure communications systems would help provide BAE Systems with a reliable digital foundation capable of supporting future operational and security requirements.

BAE Systems also highlighted the role of strategic technology partnerships in accelerating the company’s ongoing digital transformation. Dr Mary Haigh, Director Digital Delivery at BAE Systems, said the initiative would contribute to building a more secure and insight-driven working environment designed to support operational excellence while enabling greater pace and innovation across the organisation.

The agreement further strengthens collaboration between two major UK industry players at a time when defence, manufacturing and critical national infrastructure sectors are increasingly prioritising cyber resilience, secure communications and digital modernisation as part of long-term strategic planning.
