Workplace Prevention Becomes Priority for CNP Assurances Through French Care Partnership

(IN BRIEF) CNP Assurances has joined Acteurs de La French Care to support the development of workplace preventive healthcare in France. The partnership will focus on improving awareness, early detection, evidence sharing and structured prevention practices for the country’s 27 million employees. In 2026, CNP Assurances will contribute to a national symposium in Paris, a series of thematic discussions on workplace health issues and a publication identifying transferable prevention practices and their return on investment. The initiative responds to the economic and social impact of absenteeism and the limited share of healthcare spending currently directed toward prevention.

(PRESS RELEASE) ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX, 29-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — CNP Assurances has joined Acteurs de La French Care, the association bringing together stakeholders across France’s healthcare ecosystem, as part of its efforts to strengthen preventive healthcare in the workplace.

The insurer said the partnership will allow it to contribute its social-protection expertise to projects designed to improve prevention for France’s working population. More than 27 million employees are present in workplaces across the country each day, making employers and work environments important settings for early detection, health awareness and support.

CNP Assurances is joining the initiative as part of France’s major public financial sector, the Grand pôle financier public. The company plans to participate in the association’s work on structuring prevention initiatives and developing practical approaches for businesses, employees and the wider healthcare system.

The company said workplace prevention remains an underused area of health policy. It cited estimates placing the annual cost of absenteeism in France between €25 billion and €60 billion, depending on methodology, while the Agence de l’innovation en santé estimates that more proactive prevention policies could help avoid nearly 100,000 deaths each year.

A study by Asterès for Acteurs de La French Care found that structured investment in prevention could generate annual savings of between €5 billion and €17 billion for the French healthcare system.

Despite the potential benefits, workplace health prevention is not yet consistently organised at national level. CNP Assurances noted that there is limited consolidated information on transferable best practices, the effectiveness of company-led prevention programmes and the return on investment they generate.

In 2026, the company will support three priority initiatives through its partnership with Acteurs de La French Care.

The first will be a national symposium on 8 September 2026 at PariSanté Campus in Paris. The event will bring together business leaders, experts, researchers, social partners and public stakeholders to discuss the role of employers in preventive healthcare.

The second initiative will involve a series of meetings focused on subjects including health, sedentary work, absenteeism and the social determinants of occupational health.

The third will seek to consolidate sector-level feedback from Acteurs de La French Care members. The aim is to identify approaches that can be transferred between organisations, assess their return on investment and publish the resulting findings.

Christophe Harrigan, Head of Social Protection Europe and a member of CNP Assurances’ Executive Committee, said France devotes a limited share of total healthcare spending to prevention despite the country’s broader health expenditure. He said joining Acteurs de La French Care is part of an effort to place more attention on prevention in the setting where many people’s everyday health is shaped: the workplace.

Antoine Tesnière, President of Acteurs de La French Care, said the partnership brings a social-protection perspective into the association’s work and will help advance discussion around workplace preventive healthcare.

Through the collaboration, CNP Assurances aims to support a more structured approach to workplace prevention, linking social protection, employer action, health awareness and evidence-based assessment of prevention programmes.
