Special Olympics USA Games Technology Delivery Strengthens Atos Partnership Ahead of Paris Unified Football World Cup

(IN BRIEF) Atos has completed the delivery of digital and competition-management services for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, supporting event operations, athlete administration, credentialing, timing and scoring integration, results distribution, infrastructure and security. The work forms part of Atos’s five-year partnership with Special Olympics and follows a similar service model used at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025. Atos is now supporting the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup Paris 2026, which runs from 5 to 11 July at Stade Charléty and brings together footballers with and without intellectual disabilities.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 6-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Atos has completed the delivery of digital and competition-management services for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games and is continuing its technology partnership with Special Olympics at the Unified Football World Cup Paris 2026.

The USA Games brought together thousands of athletes, coaches, volunteers, officials, families and supporters from across the United States. The event combined sporting competition with opening and closing ceremonies, community activities and Unified Sports programmes, in which athletes with and without intellectual disabilities compete together.

As part of its five-year partnership with Special Olympics, Atos provided a range of core event services intended to support reliable competition operations and an inclusive experience for participants and spectators.

The delivery included competition management, athlete and sport-entry administration, credentialing, data processing, timing and scoring integration, and results-distribution services. Atos also supported the event through the Special Olympics Global Games System, infrastructure and security capabilities, alongside specialist teams working both on site and remotely.

The services built on the technical delivery model used for the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025. Atos worked with event organisers throughout the USA Games to maintain dependable competition operations, participant management and results services across the event programme.

The technology support allowed athletes, officials and organisers to focus on the competition itself while helping families, spectators and media follow the action and celebrate performances across multiple sports.

Nacho Moros, Head of Atos Major Events, said the company’s teams were proud to contribute to an event defined by sporting achievement, inclusion and mutual support. He said the delivery demonstrated how technology can help provide a high-quality experience for athletes and communities at major inclusive sporting events.

Isabel Cervelló, Vice President of Major Event Technology at Special Olympics, said athletes deserve professionally delivered events that reflect their commitment and achievements. She added that the use of established event technology helps Special Olympics deliver well-managed Games and strengthen experiences for participants, families and supporters.

The completed USA Games delivery further advances the partnership announced by Atos and Special Olympics in 2023. Under the agreement, Atos provides foundational technology services for a series of Special Olympics events, including World Winter and Summer Games, USA Games and the Unified Football World Cup.

Atos is now supporting the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup Paris 2026, which is taking place at Stade Charléty from 5 to 11 July 2026.

The tournament brings together men’s and women’s teams made up of footballers with and without intellectual disabilities. Competing through the Unified Sports model, the participants represent an approach to sport built around inclusion, teamwork and shared achievement.

Paris 2026 is the first Special Olympics event to be hosted in France and the third edition of the Unified Football World Cup.

Atos has maintained a dedicated Sports and Major Events division for more than 30 years, delivering technology services for competitions ranging from local tournaments to global sporting events. The company also serves as UEFA’s Official IT Partner for National Team Football and has recently become CONMEBOL’s Official Innovation Partner for South American domestic club competitions.
