(IN BRIEF) Schroders has appointed Rachel Harris as Head of UK Institutional to strengthen its UK market presence and support continued growth in its institutional business. Rachel, who joined Schroders in 2022 and most recently served as Business Partner to the Group CEO, brings prior experience from Aviva Investors, Janus Henderson and Credit Suisse First Boston. She will lead the firm’s UK institutional strategy and report to Phil Middleton, Head of UK Client Group. Schroders has recently expanded its institutional footprint through leadership in the UK Long-Term Asset Fund market and the award of major mandates, including an OCIO appointment for E.ON’s UK pension scheme and mandates from Aga Rangemaster Group and RNIB.

Rachel joined Schroders in 2022 and has since held a series of senior leadership positions. Her previous roles at the firm include Head of DC and Retirement Solutions and, most recently, Business Partner to Group Chief Executive Officer Richard Oldfield. Before joining Schroders, she built extensive experience across the asset management and investment banking sectors, with positions at Aviva Investors, Janus Henderson and Credit Suisse First Boston.

In her new capacity, Rachel will be responsible for shaping and executing Schroders’ UK institutional strategy. She will lead initiatives aimed at expanding client relationships, supporting growth across existing and new mandates, and strengthening the firm’s institutional footprint in a rapidly evolving market. She will report to Phil Middleton, Head of UK Client Group.

Schroders’ institutional business maintains a strong position in the UK market, including leadership in the Long-Term Asset Fund segment. The firm launched the UK’s first LTAF product in 2023 and has since expanded its offering with additional fund launches.

The company has also recently secured several high-profile institutional mandates. These include a significant outsourced chief investment officer appointment for E.ON’s UK pension scheme, alongside mandates from the Aga Rangemaster Group Pension Scheme and the Royal National Institute of Blind People’s Retirement Benefits Scheme.
