Perspectief 2024/2025: Call for Proposals to Foster Technological Innovations

(IN BRIEF) The Perspectief financing instrument invites researchers, companies, and civil-society organizations to submit proposals for collaborative research projects focused on technological innovations. Key changes include reduced co-financing requirements and updated key technologies. Deadlines are in October 2024, November 2024, and May 2025. An online information meeting will be held on 3 September 2024.

(PRESS RELEASE) THE HAGUE, 6-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Researchers from universities, universities of applied sciences, applied research organizations (TO2 institutes), companies, and civil-society organizations are invited to submit research proposals for the 2024/2025 round of the Perspectief financing instrument. This initiative aims to foster technological innovations through collaborative research projects.

Perspectief provides an opportunity for researchers to launch significant research projects and develop multidisciplinary consortia. The projects should focus on the application of technical innovations in line with the Knowledge and Innovation Agendas (KIAs), Key Enabling Technologies, and digitalization. Within these guidelines, researchers have the freedom to define their proposals.

By encouraging collaboration among researchers, companies, and civil-society organizations, Perspectief aims to enhance the practical application of generated knowledge, resulting in economic opportunities and social impact.

Key Changes in This Round:

• Compulsory cash co-financing has been reduced to 10% of the required funding.
• The recalibrated key technologies are used, and the round is open to the 7 new KIAs.
• A single form is now available for assessing appropriateness within each KIA.
• Funding per research project ranges from €2 million to €5 million, with a maximum duration of six years.

Deadlines:

• Letters of Intent: Tuesday, 8 October 2024, by 14:00:00 CEST.
• Pre-applications: Tuesday, 19 November 2024, by 14:00:00 CET.
• Full Applications: Tuesday, 13 May 2025, before 14:00:00 CEST.

Information Meeting: An online meeting about Perspectief will be held on 3 September from 16:00 to 17:00. To register, email ttw-perspectief@nwo.nl. The meeting will provide information about the program and opportunities to ask questions.

Participate in an Initiative: NWO will publish the statements of intent submitted by applicants on the Perspectief program’s website in October 2024. Interested researchers, companies, or civil-society organizations can contact applicants via an interest form on the website.
