(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 12-Dec-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — MTU Aero Engines is implementing a series of senior leadership changes across its commercial engine and maintenance businesses as it prepares for the year ahead, reinforcing continuity and long-term strategic development following the appointment of Ottmar Pfänder to the company’s Executive Board as Chief Program Officer.

Effective January 1, 2026, André Sinanian will take on responsibility for MTU’s entire portfolio of commercial engine programs in his new role as Senior Vice President Commercial Programs. Sinanian steps into the position after more than 15 years leading MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg, where he has been instrumental in transforming the site into a significantly larger and more diversified operation. Under his leadership, revenues increased fourfold, staffing levels doubled, and the facility expanded its international footprint within MTU’s global maintenance network.

A leadership transition will also take place at the Ludwigsfelde facility near Berlin, a key hub for maintenance, repair and overhaul services covering business aviation, regional and narrowbody engines, as well as industrial gas turbines. Patrick Biebel, currently Managing Director of MTU Maintenance Lease Services in Amsterdam, will assume responsibility as Managing Director and Senior Vice President of MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg. His appointment reflects extensive experience across MTU’s business development, operational, leasing and asset management activities.

Meanwhile, Remko Bruinsma will move into the role of Managing Director of MTU Maintenance Lease Services, taking charge of MTU’s global engine leasing and asset management business. Formerly Vice President of Asset Management Solutions, Bruinsma brings deep sector expertise to support the subsidiary’s continued expansion and growing customer demand.

Commenting on the appointments, Ottmar Pfänder emphasized that the internal succession reflects MTU’s focus on leveraging proven expertise across the organization. He highlighted André Sinanian’s role in advancing multiple MRO programs and in developing MTU Maintenance Fort Worth from a specialized on-site service operation into a full-scale MRO facility. Pfänder also cited Patrick Biebel’s success in building MTU Maintenance Lease Services into an internationally established platform and described Remko Bruinsma as ideally positioned to guide the leasing business through its next phase of growth.

MTU continues to hold a leading global position in customized maintenance solutions for aero engines and industrial gas turbines. Through MTU Maintenance, the group supports more than 30 current and next-generation engine types and complements its core MRO activities with leasing, asset management and digital service offerings. Since its founding in 1979, MTU Maintenance has completed in excess of 25,000 shop visits, underscoring its long-standing role in the aviation aftermarket.
