Made in Moscow expo to showcase medical equipment from Shvabe and water treatment plant developed by the Polyus Research Institute

The Middle East accounts for 10% of medical equipment exported by the Holding

MOSCOW, 30-Jan-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — The Russian company is going to show its developments in neonatology: intensive care incubator, phototherapeutic irradiator and heater. In addition, Shvabe will be a part of the joint exposition of the Moscow Government “Made in Moscow”. The Holding specialists are going to show a water treatment plant developed by the Polyus Research Institute, as well as a multifunctional inhalation anaesthesia unit, cardiographic electrodes ECO and an automatic defibrillator.

“The market of medical equipment in the United Arab Emirates is a very attractive platform for foreign trade activity. Currently, the Middle East accounts for 10% of medical equipment exported by the Holding. In the long term, we are planning to increase this value considerably due to extension of our distributors’ list,” said the general director of Shvabe Alexei Patrikeyev.

Shvabe is the only Russian manufacturer of all types of neonatal equipment and occupies about 50% of the market of such equipment in Russia. Shvabe incubators are equipped with a computer-control system that allows monitoring all the possible parameters: temperature inside a module, oxygen concentration and air humidity, as well as new-born’s body temperature and weight. The Holding devices are made only of Russian components and used for therapy, nursing and effective resuscitation of premature and waster new-borns with pathologies and extremely low body weight – from 500 g. For many years, the Shvabe medical equipment has been reducing the infant mortality in Russia and in some clinics abroad. And once it was used to save a cougar kitten in the Yekaterinburg zoo.

The Holding’s water treatment plant presented as a part of the Made in Moscow exposition has been created for effective water treatment and disinfection. The fully automated equipment removes iron, manganese, copper, phosphorus, organics (including oil products) and other chemical compounds.

Moreover, guests of the Moscow Government stand will be able to find out more about a very sough-after device MAIA-01. This equipment provides artificial lung ventilation, narcosis and integrated monitoring of breathing mixture for children and adults. It helps doctors to provide anesthesia with all types of liquid and gaseous anesthetics with minimum health effects. In 2016, the device won the National import-substitution award “Prioritet-2016” in the “Prioritet-Med” category.

Development and manufacturing of medical equipment is one of key lines of the Holding’s activity. Currently, there are more than 200 Shvabe-branded medical products. Shvabe is the only manufacturer of all types of neonatal equipment in Russia. Its products are used by more than 600 obstetric institutions in Russia. The Holding exports its equipment to more than 60 countries of the world, including states of South and Southeast Asia.
