LBBW Secures Second Place in TXF Export Finance Ranking and Remains Among Global Top Three for Eighth Year

(IN BRIEF) LBBW has once again been named among the world’s leading banks for export finance, achieving second place in the latest TXF ranking and remaining in the top three for the eighth consecutive year. The TXF Awards are based on a customer survey by the London-based specialist information service TXF, with around 450 importers and exporters worldwide providing feedback on their export finance banking relationships. LBBW achieved its best result in the customer service category, where it stood out by a clear margin, while customers also highlighted its market expertise, understanding of client business models, risk management, international network and relationship-driven approach. The bank said export finance has become an important pillar of its internationalisation and transformation strategy, supporting companies with structured long-term financing, often backed by export credit agency cover. LBBW said these solutions help clients access funding for international projects, strengthen competitiveness, support market entry and expansion, and contribute to the transformation of the economy and infrastructure.

(PRESS RELEASE) STUTTGART, 11-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — LBBW has again been recognised as one of the world’s leading banks for export finance, securing second place in the latest TXF ranking and remaining among the top three banks in the category for the eighth year in a row.

The ranking is based on the latest customer survey by TXF, the London-based specialist information service focused on export, trade and commodity finance. In this year’s TXF Awards, customers particularly highlighted LBBW’s service quality, market expertise and understanding of client business models.

Joachim Erdle, LBBW Executive Board Member for Corporate Clients, said the renewed top ranking shows that the bank’s export finance business is strongly positioned both strategically and in terms of personnel. He said LBBW combines structuring expertise with a deep understanding of clients’ business models and uses export finance as a targeted tool to support internationalisation and transformation.

The TXF survey gathered feedback from around 450 importers and exporters worldwide about their experiences with banks in export finance. LBBW achieved its strongest result in the customer service category, where it led the market by a clear margin.

Respondents pointed to several competitive strengths, including LBBW’s expertise across the full value chain, dedicated risk management, international network and consistent relationship-based approach. The result reinforces the bank’s position as a key export finance partner for companies operating across international markets.

Michael Maurer, Division Head of Global Trade & Payments at LBBW and responsible for the bank’s export finance business, said second place in the TXF Awards 2026 is both a recognition and an incentive. He said export finance has become a strategic lever for internationalisation for many companies, with clients requiring speed, reliability and structuring expertise.

Maurer added that LBBW intends to continue supporting customers as a strong partner for their international activities, particularly as companies navigate global market shifts and increasingly complex financing requirements.

LBBW said current global developments show that traditional export finance is evolving into a strategic instrument for strengthening international competitiveness. Structured, long-term financing solutions, often supported by export credit agency cover, can help companies access funding that would be difficult to obtain through purely private-sector financing.

This type of financing is relevant for projects in emerging and developing economies as well as in established industrialised markets. LBBW said export finance supports market entry, expansion and investment activities, while helping companies remain competitive in international business.

The bank also positions export finance as an important pillar of its internationalisation and transformation strategy. By supporting corporate clients with structured financing, LBBW aims to contribute to the transformation of the economy and infrastructure while helping customers expand across global markets.

The TXF Awards were presented on June 10, 2026, at the TXF Global Conference in Prague.
